Barcelona, the second largest city in Spain, is a gorgeous place to travel to. It is the hub of Spanish arts, fashion, and entertainment culture. From the beaches to the nightlife, there’s plenty to do. Those who are history buffs will love Barri Gotic, or The Gothic Quarter. Most of the buildings in the area have been around since the Medieval era, with others dating to the Roman Empire. It is also an excellent area to walk or bike along the Mediterranean Sea.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, El Palau de la Musica Catalana, is a gorgeous building designed by the world renowned architect, Lluis Domenech i Montaner, who was actually from Barcelona himself. The Museu Naconal d’Art de Catalunya contains hundreds of exhibits of art dating as far back as the Medieval era, but also contains art as late as the 19th century. There is also a city history museum nearby for those into local history. Barcelona is famous for food, and I would hope a visitor wouldn’t leave without sampling as much as possible.
