The live sessions continue at our new Art House Live Space in West LA. Throughout the summer we are playing host to many talented musicians and artists, and on Friday, July 13 we are presenting a night of amazing local LA bands. Featuring Henry Hall, a special reunion show from Animal Husbandry, and Yaw Control.
Tucked away in Mar Vista, Art House Live inhabits an old tomato market that dates back to 1913. We have renovated the interior to include a storefront gallery space and a fully functioning studio/performance room.
Henry Hall is a songwriter/singer/guitarist/fruit juice lover (FJL) from Los Angeles. He goes to Wesleyan University where he writes songs, sings, guitars, and drinks fruit juice for a band named Grand Cousin. Accompanied by Myles Emmons on bass and Zach Tabori on them good ol’ drums, Henry hopes you enjoy his show on the 13th where he will be playing songs from the Grand Cousin EP along with new, newer songs.

Animal Husbandry is the combined brain child of six intertwined childhood friends whose musical interests range from ragtime to fifties pop, and whose original sound can only be classified under the self-imposed genre of “jungle-folk”. Because four members now work full time with vocalist Augusta Dayton in the local folk band Neighbors, the Animal Husbandry project has been tabled for the past two years; but the same four young troubadours have agreed to come together for a one-night only triumphant reunion of Animal Husbandry at Top Tomato.

Yaw Control is a live collaboration comprised of West Coast-natives Will Walden (of StaG) and Stephen Becker. Once united in their high school band, Sam & Marshall, Yaw Control continues to create a unique sound based in LA-influenced folk and surf music. Their sun-washed, ambient guitar melodies echo against thrashing percussion grooves, all tied together by improvised noise loops. The duo will headline the July 13th edition of Art House Live sessions, playing both StaG material and new original music.
